Position: Regional Sales Manager
Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is an individual contributor role responsible for driving revenue growth, executing strategy, and creating demand for SP Scientific Genevac laboratory evaporator solutions in the western U.S. region, covering CA to TX. The role involves close collaboration with key customers and the Global Sales Director to achieve corporate results and meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Targets: Meet/exceed sales plans/targets and develop the installed base for new/replacement/expansion opportunities.
- Customer Engagement: Understand customer needs, translate them into project proposals/quotes, and ensure proposals add value to the customer experience.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain proficiency in Genevac portfolio, applications, and workflows, staying current on customer, market, and competitive trends.
- Pricing Management: Manage pricing intelligently to capture customer value and maximize margins, understanding regional market prices.
- Territory Management: Develop territory forecasts, plans, and maintain CRM pipeline. Document customer visits and identify multiple influencers in the selling process.
- Lead Follow-Up: Follow up on leads promptly and document them in CRM. Update CRM with important contacts and project details.
- Market Insight: Share customer, market, and competitive information with the business, providing reports and recommendations as needed.
- Event Participation: Attend and contribute to shows, exhibitions, and conferences.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare proposals and organize quotes based on customer information.
- Relationship Management: Maintain good working relationships with company members, channel partners, and customers.
Experience and Qualifications
- Sales Performance: Proven ability to drive sales and achieve territory revenue targets.
- Industry Experience: Experience selling equipment to pharmaceutical, biotech, environmental, and/or research institutions, either direct or through channel partners.
- Travel: Ability to travel (>50%), including frequent overnight travel to customer sites and SP manufacturing facilities, primarily in CA, WA, TX, CO.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build rapport and relationships at multiple levels within an account.
- Technical Solutions: Confidence and comfort in representing complex technical solutions.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
- Cross-Functional Work: Proven ability to work in a cross-functional manner that drives results.
- Independence: Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex problems and overcome obstacles.
- Project Management: Preferred experience in project management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in life or physical sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering a plus).

- Leadership: Demonstrate leadership in HSE compliance and ensure team members are accountable.
- Training: Ensure employees receive regular HSE training.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with legislative and corporate HSE requirements.
- Hazard Management: Conduct hazard assessments, inspections, and audits.
- Corrective Measures: Implement appropriate measures for unsafe conditions and acts.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the provision and maintenance of safe equipment and materials.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 plus bonus.
