Position: Functional Analyst
Job Summary
The Functional Analyst will support the University Bursar’s office by overseeing business operations, identifying system/process improvements, and developing enhancements. This full-time, benefits-eligible position offers competitive salaries and flexible work schedules, including hybrid options.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations: Manage billing services, process bills, create data reports, and handle Excel data files.
- Software Issues: Address software errors and outages by coordinating with IT departments or outside vendors.
- Reporting: Provide internal reports to support daily activities, including ad hoc reports and queries.
- Process Improvement: Review and analyze accounts receivable functions to identify improvement areas and recommend enhancements.
- Data Analysis: Use data to identify problem areas and implement corrective measures to ensure performance quality.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain procedures manuals and systems documentation.
- Technology Evaluation: Analyze new technologies/products and existing software to suggest improvements.
- Feature Testing: Participate in testing University Bursar applications during upgrades.
- Vendor Liaison: Communicate business needs to application vendors and document upgrades.
- Committees and Projects: Serve on university committees and project teams as needed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other relevant IT Tech Associate duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years (24 months) in IT-related functions.
- College coursework in IT, IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or related disciplines can substitute for experience:
- 30 semester hours = one (1) year
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) = eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours = two (2) years
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) = three (3) years
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Previous experience in information systems, business process analysis, or a related IT field.
