Within our Drums & Percussion Department, we impact musicians across the spectrum, from young students to seasoned professionals in symphony orchestras. We achieve this by marketing and distributing a variety of percussion instruments, including Marching Drums, Acoustic and Electronic Drum sets, and drum hardware throughout the U.S. market.

We’re offering a paid internship opportunity with a hybrid schedule, based at our Buena Park office.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with dealers, consumers, District Sales Managers, and internal teams to address inquiries effectively.
  • Attend industry events such as trade shows, clinics, and artist performances when required.
  • Coordinate product displays and supportive materials for events.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis and develop product and price comparisons.
  • Assist in producing marketing materials for various platforms, including print ads, social media content, flyers, labels, brochures, and press releases.
  • Undertake a final intern project focused on researching and addressing a real-world business challenge.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited university program, or recent graduation within the last year, preferably with a degree in Journalism, Marketing, Music Business, Music Performance, Music Education, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a retail music store is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in playing a percussion instrument is preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.7.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with excellent proofreading and copywriting abilities.
  • Creative thinking with the capacity to generate innovative ideas.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles.

Software Requirements:

  • Familiarity with current technology and applications, including social media platforms, podcasts, Mac OS, and presentation software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
