Overview
Pilgrim’s, the second-largest chicken producer in the world, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our team at our headquarters in Greeley, Colorado. Purpose and Scope/General Summary
The Corporate Accountant will play a vital role in managing and preparing corporate journal entries and account reconciliations within our large, complex, and fast-paced organization. This role involves detailed financial reporting, subsidiary trial balance reviews, and preparation of quarterly financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, focusing on prepaid expenses, expense allocations, and intercompany balancing.
- Month-End Ledger Closing: Manage and execute the month-end closing process.
- Financial Data Analysis: Accumulate and analyze data for balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Subsidiary Review and Consolidation: Review subsidiary trial balances and other financial reporting schedules, and consolidate them with the parent company’s financial statements.
- Quarterly Financial Statements: Prepare quarterly financial statements and fulfill disclosure requirements.
- Audit Assistance: Support quarterly reviews and audits.
- IFRS Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of IFRS financial statements.
- External Reporting: Help with monthly and quarterly external reporting, including government filings.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Experience: 3-4 years of combined experience in public accounting and industry preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with various levels of management and external auditors.
- Technical Skills:
- General ledger knowledge in consolidation accounting, including eliminations and foreign currency translation (SAP experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP reporting, including financial statement preparation and review.
- IFRS reporting knowledge is a plus.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills, quick learner, and able to complete responsibilities independently with proper training.

Compensation and Benefits
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Coverage begins after 60 days of employment.
- Paid Time Off: Includes sick leave, vacation, and 6 company-observed holidays.
- 401(k) Plan: Company match begins after the first year of service, following the company vesting schedule.
- Salary Range: Base salary range of $60,000-$85,000.
- Incentive Pay: Eligibility to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
